When starting a new collection, the designer needs to take a lot of factors into consideration. Such as colours, textures and fabrics.

"The fabric is the key factor when it comes to a LOT78 collection, so the pieces are often worked around what materials we believe are necessary for that season." says Louise Whittington, Head of Design for LOT78.

LOT78's AW17 collection is strongly focused on 70's Sportswear. The details like bound edges from 70's running shorts feature as tuxedo stripes on fluid crepe pants, and pinstripe wool baseball kits translated into contemporary suiting pieces and shirts.

The collection is full of timeless pieces such as the perfect white T, a leather bike jacket, and a versatile cotton shirt.  Such a small change in the simplest piece can make a huge difference in style and the way how it can be worn. The men's button back shirt is a perfect example of a brilliant, sharp shirt with extra attention to detail and can easily be worn by a woman as well as a man.

Finding inspiration is not always so straightforward and can sometimes come in the most unexpected moment or places. In the LOT78 studio, we are surrounded by art, moodboards, and fabrics to boost our inspiration. However, once all these factors come together, we are often inundated with ideas.  We often find ourselves re-visiting them in the seasons to come.
