What's your role at LOT78?

Head of Design

When did you join the LOT78's family?

Just over 4 years ago now, although it feels like yesterday!

What sparked your interest in fashion?
I was obsessed with fashion magazines from a young age and would spend hours going over them and pulling together images that I loved.
What are you fascinated by at the moment and how does it feed into your work?
I'm always fascinated by what people wear and how they wear it. London is a great place to be based for this as there are so many creative people and people from diverse backgrounds who mix up different styles and cultures. I think it's so important to be able to envisage how different people will wear the pieces when we are designing them, and this is always a discussion during the design process.

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started working at LOT78?
That there is always an answer! As a small brand, things are never as straight-forward as you'd like them to be, but I love a challenge!
What do you like most about your job?
That I see direct results of my work, that's definite the positive to me of working within a small company, a real sense of achievement.

 What's your role at LOT78?

Junior Designer

When did you join the LOT78's family?

 Just over a year ago

What sparked your interest in fashion?

I received my first sewing machine at a young age and ever since I’ve loved having the freedom to remix clothing in my way. A personal favourite was tailoring my dad’s expensive suit trousers to fit a 12 year old me, without any permission. Safe to say I was introduced to vintage markets soon after.

What are you fascinated by at the moment and how does it feed into your work?

People and Culture. I come from a multi-cultural background, like many people in London, and constantly find myself using cultural references in my research. I am particularly passionate about art, whether it be the medium used or a hue of colour from an artwork.

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started working at LOT78?

The importance of communication. It’s so important to have transparency throughout all stages of design.

What do you like most about your job?

Realising concepts from a drawing to building a collection. I see individual garments as building blocks and enjoy design in a modular way.
